India's 400 billion exports


India has made history by achieving its ambitious export target of 400 billion in a single year. The target was reached on March 21, 2022.


For the first time in history, India has crossed the 400 trade mark.


On average, exports amount to 46 million dollars per hours,  1 billion per day, and  33 billion per month.


In the fiscal year 2020-21, exports were ९ 292 billion, while in 2021-22, exports grew by 37 per cent to. 400.8 billion.


Engineering goods were the biggest contributor to the growth in exports. These exports grew by almost 50 per cent. Exports are expected to reach 110 billion by the end of 2022.


Exports of electronics grew by 42.8 per cent in the first 11 months of the current fiscal. Exports of gems and jewelery grew by 57.3 per cent on account of higher gold prices.


Exports of petroleum products grew by 147.6 per cent on account of sustained rise in crude oil prices.


Other products include organic and inorganic chemicals, readymade garments, meat and dairy products, as well as marine products.
