Param Shakti supercomputer-

IIT Kharagpur unveiled the supercomputer 'Param Shakti' on March 27, 2022 at the hands of West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhad.

The Param Shakti supercomputer has been developed under the National Supercomputing Mission as a joint initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Department of Science and Technology.

The aim is to accelerate research and development activities in the multi-disciplinary domain of computer and data science of IIT Kharagpur as well as other educational, research and development institutes.

The first indigenously built super computer 'Param Shivaya' was installed at IIT (BHU) Varanasi.

After this, 'Param Brahma' super computer will be installed at Eicher Institute in Pune.

India has developed an indigenous server called 'Rudra' to provide high performance computer facilities to all governments and public sector undertakings in the country.
